Cougar Clan

She watches over her pride
her clan, her family

The call in the wood
so furtive… so chilling
a child crying out
pierces my heart

Look through me, Momma
Awaken that far and distant one
that dwells within
Your claw so gently placed
rips the mask from my face

Your blood runs
through us all
