Deer Heart

When I was young
I ran with deer
soared with eagle
slept with bear
felt the fluttering of little bird
in my heart

Now when life catches me
startles my awareness
headlights in a does eyes
I wish to run again
in that joyful way
my dear heart drumming happiness
Deer heart
